IMA-MSC builds the largest greenhouse in Navarra for Explotaciones Agrícolas Milca

IMA-MSC Greenhouses is currently constructing a greenhouse that, with a surface area of 300.000 square meters, will be the largest in Navarre. The project is being carried out for Explotaciones Agrícolas Milca, a partner company of the Florette group, a leader in the fresh-cut produce sector in Spain and the rest of Europe. The structure, whose first phase has already been completed and is showing its first signs of growth, will be used for cultivating various varieties of lettuce, arugula, watercress, and lamb's lettuce.

The greenhouse is located in the town of Cadreita, and its produce will be processed and packaged in the neighboring town of Milagro, where one of the Florette Group's plants in Spain is located. At this processing plant, the vegetables from the greenhouse are selected and packaged according to the highest quality standards. One of the Florette Group's fundamental principles is to offer products of perfect quality that contribute to the health and well-being of consumers. Therefore, and due to the fragility of these vegetables, it is essential that transport and processing times be minimized to avoid damage to the produce.

IMA-MSC has extensive experience in constructing greenhouses of this type and has already completed similar projects for Explotaciones Agrícolas Milca. The relationship of trust between the two companies has facilitated this new collaboration. The result will be this large greenhouse, scheduled for completion in the summer of 2011, which will allow for the production of 1.300 tons of vegetables per year. It features a traditional multi-span structure and can easily accommodate any type of mechanized equipment, whether for harvesting, irrigation, or temperature control. It also offers excellent performance in areas such as pest control and protection from external elements. Another aspect that IMA-MSC pays particular attention to is the modular design of its structures, which greatly simplifies assembly and future expansions, as well as significantly reducing construction costs.
