The world's largest greenhouse

The world's largest greenhouse

This 50-hectare environmental complex was conceived by Tim Smith and designed by architect Nicholas Grimshaw. Located in Cornwall, England, this greenhouse comprises five geodesic domes, each housing a different environment, known as a biome. Project Eden: the world's largest greenhouse.

Numerous research projects are conducted in this greenhouse. Technology, cultivation, and plants come together to create innovative proposals and new avenues of research. The construction of this complex is inspired by the power of nature and sustainable development. This greenhouse aims to create three distinct biomes: the first replicates a humid tropical climate, the second generates a hot and dry climate (Mediterranean climate), and finally, a third open-air biome recreates typical English gardens.

As we have mentioned before, it is a scientific project, a combination of horticulture, science, art and architecture that generates different sensations and experiences in visitors.
Project Eden strives for resource conservation and contributes to the integration of plant diversity with human life. During the first few months, 162.7 million liters of rainwater were collected. This resulted in resource savings, the main environmental objective of Project Eden.

Once again, greenhouses are demonstrating their commitment to environmental development and the conservation of resources and the planet. At MSC Greenhouses, we support these types of projects, where technology and the environment work together for a better world.
