After years of experience in Central America, the tropical model has proven to be a good solution for various types of crops in tropical climates. It has been primarily used in tomato and cucumber farms, but on a smaller scale it has also been used for seedbeds. This product facilitated IMA-MSC's entry into the Central American market years ago, and over time it has become one of the company's flagship products.
IMA-MSC is a company with a strong export focus, and the tropical greenhouse is the best example of its drive to enter new markets. The adaptability of its structures to different types of crops has always been a top priority for the company and is a proven quality in its various greenhouse models. The shade net is especially suitable for summer crops. The lightweight greenhouse, or Navarro greenhouse, is a structure particularly well-suited to small-leafed and flowering crops. And the TunnelKit, the most recently launched product, is a model designed for recreational cultivation. But the tropical greenhouse is one of IMA-MSC's greatest achievements in terms of adaptability and already boasts several years of experience and proven success.
The tropical greenhouse is an evolution of the traditional multi-span greenhouse, retaining the advantages of its predecessor while incorporating additional features that allow for better adaptation to the tropical environment. In this respect, ventilation is the most important factor. The high temperatures and humidity typical of tropical areas are counteracted with fixed ventilation in each bay and other optional devices, enabling control of this vital element. The structural framework also differs from the traditional multi-span greenhouse; generally speaking, it has been lightened because in tropical areas it does not have to withstand the same heavy loads as in European countries, such as snow. Simplifying the structures reduces costs without compromising their strength, and in fact, they can be supplemented with trellising to support crops that require it, without creating an excessive load.
The unique characteristics of the tropical wood make it a competitive product, but it should also be noted that IMA-MSC takes great care in the modular design of all its structures, which facilitates assembly and future expansions, as well as significantly reducing the costs of the assembly process.
