The Navarrese government has set aside 72.000 euros to subsidize greenhouse damage insurance until 2013.

The Government of Navarre approved in plenary session held on March 29 a multi-year expenditure of 72.000 euros (18.000 euros annually from 2010 to 2013) intended to subsidize the cost of insurance for damage to greenhouses.

This contribution is primarily motivated by the fact that this type of insurance is the only one excluded from the Combined Agricultural Insurance Plan. In a few months, we will be able to better assess whether the amount of aid is sufficient to support and promote protected cultivation in Navarre, a modality still largely untapped in the region. In any case, any assistance will be welcome.

Applications for greenhouse insurance can be submitted once the call for applications is published in the Official Gazette of Navarre (BON), for a period of one month. The Government of Navarre will subsidize up to 50% of the insurance cost. There will be a base subsidy and additional aid if the beneficiary is a 'full-time farmer' or a 'young farmer'.
